On Monday, March 3 2025, an exhibition „Valgus loob“ by graphic artist and book illustrator Katrin Kaev will be opened in the Museum of the Literature Centre. This exhibition – as the title suggests – draws attention to the skillful interplay of light and digital art technologies.

Katrin Kaev graduated from the Department of Graphic Arts of the Estonian Academy of Arts. She has worked as a teacher and a designer as well as a freelance graphic artist and illustrator. Since 1995, Katrin Kaev has been a member of the The Estonian Artists Association and the Association of Independent Artists. Since 2022, she has also been a member of the artists’ group graafika.ee studio, whose goal is to promote and interpret contemporary graphic art.

“I am a believer in graphic art. I look for outlets to tell the story of a line. I follow a line and look for points of contact where a line becomes a surface and a surface becomes a form, a space. I want to express movement through space, to perceive the existence of a surface in a form and the existence of a form in a space. The perspective determines what we see and perceive from this space. The games with changing the perspective and shifting the perspective on this landscape expand this space in every sense. And the light that creates dynamics.”

The exhibition can be visited until May 12th and admission is with the museum ticket (5 euros full ticket, 3 euros discount ticket (students, university students and seniors); or with The Estonian Museum Card.
